Reading

How do I change the reading speed?

Use the speed slider under the play button while reading. You can choose anything from 100 to 1,000 words per minute. Your speed carries on from chapter to chapter. The speed a book starts at is set in Settings.

Can I see the full text?

Yes. While reading, open the menu at the top right and turn on Show full text. Scroll the text to move to a different place. On iPad in landscape, and on an unfolded iPhone Duo, the chapter text appears on the left page and the words on the right.

Where is my progress saved?

On your device. Read It saves your place in every book automatically. Because nothing is stored online, deleting the app also deletes your progress, unless you restore it from a device backup.

Books and downloads

Which books are free?

Pride and Prejudice, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Frankenstein are free forever. Read It Premium unlocks the rest of the library, downloads, all reading themes and chapter quizzes.

A download didn’t work

Downloading a book needs an internet connection. Check you’re online and try again. Once a book has downloaded, you can read it offline.

Purchases and subscriptions

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Sign in with the same Apple Account you bought with, then open Read It and go to Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases.

How does the free trial work?

The Annual plan starts with a one-week free trial. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you won’t be charged. Otherwise the annual subscription starts when the trial ends.

How do I cancel my subscription?

In Read It, go to Settings → Subscription → Manage Subscription. Or, on your iPhone or iPad, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Read It. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

How do I get a refund?

Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
